Remember when I had a blog? I know it has been awhile. I have been slacking in the posting department but I really will make an effort to write more...
Since my last post, we celebrated FSU's 30th birthday, including a visit from one of his best friends, dinner with great friends, and a surprise trip to Philadelphia which turned into our engagement weekend!
I planned a whole week of celebration for FSU's birthday; I really wanted his 30th to be special and memorable and we've been missing home so much. I flew his best friend up to visit, it was supposed to be a surprise but I totally blabbed before he got here. I planned the trip to Philly, got a great hotel room for Saturday night, and made reservations at Barclay Prime.
The hotel was great, the site-seeing was fun, the food at Barclay Prime was hands down one of the best meals I've ever had and by Sunday morning I was satisfied that he had a great birthday already even with a whole week of celebration ahead of us.
As we were packing up our stuff to check out, me taking my sweet time not really wanting to leave he looked anxious and I was starting to wonder if he wasn't having a great time. Just when I was about to ask him if he was ok, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I won't share the details because I just think those things are personal, we've got to keep some things between the two of us you know? I will just say that the proposal was perfect, the ring is far more beautiful than I ever imagined and I am without a doubt the luckiest girl in the world.
I literally sometimes feel sorry that every girl doesn't have a guy like him in her life. I watch other women date these men who treat them like they are expendable, unimportant afterthoughts and I just cannot believe that I have FSU. I know that sounds condescending but give me this one.
Will promptly celebrated by getting cheese steaks for lunch on our way home. This is THE man for me! I suppose Philadelphia will always have a special place in our hearts now, along with cheese whiz and Geno's.
I just have to add this last little tidbit; we went back by my parents NJ house to pick up Mr.Zeus and when I showed my mom the ring and said "we got engaged!" she said, " Wow, congratulations, I love your shoes where did you get them?" Oh mom, you always know the most awkward and hilarious thing to say.
