I fear the Sarah Palin's of the world

This is not now, nor will it ever be a political blog. But I just had the time to catch up on the speeches and news and campaign coverage I have missed out on recently. (work. sleep. you know.) I took the time to watch Palin's entire speech at the Republican National Convention. I think this is how I would feel at a cult meeting... wondering if everyone else is resisting the urge to laugh, or yell back at the speaker. She does have a good speech writer though, and she's attractive, which we all know is like number 3 on the list of most important qualities to have in an election. damn.

The idea of someone like Sarah Palin as Vice President scares me a lot more than John McCain as President. I am going to lose a lot of sleep leading up to this election, thinking about how she could be "one heart beat away from the Presidency" as someone put it recently. McCain is old.

I am also baffled as to why anyone would suggest that because she is a woman she might gain the support of Hilary's supporters. What? That's just ... I don't even know how to react to that idea. I don't know if it's just me, but I don't base my vote solely on someones gender. Are American women really that stupid?

I need a Valium.

Americans in general ARE really that stupid... or at least ignorant. At this point its all a popularity contest. If you haven't been paying attention for the past 4-8 years, you won't learn anything new between now and the election. It's all propaganda from here on out. Thankfully I know you have been paying attention. Disregard the dog and pony show and go with what you already know.
