It's Tuesday night. We left Florida Friday afternoon rather late, and FSU drove almost the entire 14 hours. I have unpacked, taken him to do some sightseeing, met my new roommate, done a lot of shopping and money spending with BlogMistress for essential apartment stuff like curtains and bath mats... and tonight I had to say goodbye to FSU.
I have my first day of work tomorrow, and I can't even muster the energy to be nervous. My emotional strength is pretty much gone and I'm just exhausted. Leaving the airport today, getting on the metro, not running back was so hard. One of the hardest things I've ever done.
To top this all off, I was looking forward to sharing my road trip/moving pictures, but somewhere in the packing I have misplaced the cord for my camera, so now I'm stuck with a lot of pictures and no way to share them. I will tackle this on the weekend, along with about a million other things I need to do.
The one odd thing that happened to me so far, sort of a heard in D.C. kind of moment involved a Starbuck's and an old lady with a hunchback. We were on our way to Arlington via metro, and I just had to run into Starbuck's to pee. Apparently little old hunchback lady did as well, so I let her go in front of me because I'm just so nice. I must have smiled at her or something, at which point she turns around to me and says, "There's nothing to smile about lady, I've gotta go!" and then proceeded to yank on the door handle until the nice young man inside came out and gave her a baffled look. It almost ruined my day, and then I got over it.
Hopefully pictures soon, and maybe even a real live post about something you might find interesting!
