long distance relationship?

After all the preparation and talk and planning I'm leaving Friday. We are driving straight through and should get there sometime Saturday. Then FSU flies back Tuesday and I start my internship Wednesday morning.

I know it is going to be a whirlwind, and I'm excited, but I am scared about the enormous amounts of change that are about to happen, and I'm so sad about being hundreds of miles away from the people I love the most. Everyone has some piece of advice about being in a long-distance relationship, and instead of getting annoyed I am interested. I like to hear about other peoples experiences. I may not take your advice but I am listening, so by all means leave a comment, email me, leave me some words of wisdom. Just don't say "don't do it" because that is not happening.

Not to mention, I have so much crap to pack. I made a list and it just keeps growing, and then I cross things off in an attempt to be less of a crazy person bringing everything with me.

Sorry I have no energy left for real entertaining posts. I promise a picture filled extravaganza detailing the best parts of the trip to DC.!

My darling fellow (soon to be) northern lady.....

I can COMPLETELY help you and relate your long distance problems.

Josh & I dated from sophmore year on... we decided to stay together after college when I moved to Philly. We lasted about 6 months, then it all collapsed. I don't know why. I think (partially) was due to the fact that we didn't know when we'd be together again.. other then weekends here and there. We stayed apart for 10 months before getting back together and doing the long distance thing for another entire year. This time it worked. We made sure to be honest. We made sure to know the next time we'd see each other. And we made time for our own lives too.

I have no doubt you can do it - and call if you ever need advice!!
This is one long comment.
Love,
Courtney :)
